Conference Venue

Change in Conference Venue

We recently learned that due to circumstances beyond out control we need to move the conference venue to the Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort.

The conference centre at the original location, the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura, was being refurbished, and while it was guaranteed that it would be finished in time for SDF-17, the hotel management has just (on 16/5/17) informed that the work will not be complete.

The Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort is an even more luxurious hotel than we originally booked, located 10 minutes from the Tivoli Marina. We have been assured that all prices will remain the same.

The hotel will be providing bus transport between The Marina and the new venue.

For a full transport timetable that will be running between Vilamoura Marina (Tivoli Marina Hotel) and the new conference venue the Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort - please click .. here ..

If you have booked at the Tivoli Marina you may move your reservation to the Anantara Vilamoura Resort at the same price - please contact the hotel directly.

We regret the inconvenience and apologise on behalf of the hotel chain, but you will understand this is something out of the control of KES. However, we are working hard to ensure that all our delegates have the useful and enjoyable experience that they expected.

About Vilamoura

Vilamoura is known for its beaches, three kilometres of golden sand and transparent waters. To the west of the Marina entrance, the much photographed Falesia Beach with the stunning beauty of its colourful sandstone cliffs stretches into the distance. Vilamoura Marina is one of the main centres of attraction in the Algarve, offering a wide range of tourist and leisure activities. The Marina quay is an exciting locale of cafes, restaurants, waterside bars and a new deck zone.

Travel Information

How to get to the Algarve:

Due to its peripheral location, the Algarve enjoys good transport connections, both internally with the other Portuguese cities and externally with the rest of the world. Various national airlines have regular flights to the Algarve, making Faro a busy international airport. Vilamoura which will host SDF17 is a 20 minute transfer from the Airport.

If you require airport transfer assistance from/to either Faro Airport or Lisbon Airport please email a member of our local destination team - Cristina Eusébio from the Portugal Travel Team who will be able to assist you with timings and prices for your transfer as well as sending you a booking form and taking payment in advance.

*Please note if you are travelling with colleagues its always more economical to book group transfers.

Please email Cristina on for more information.

Details on Faro Airport can be found .. here ..

Alternatively, if you prefer to explore Lisbon first, the capital city of Portugal and then arrive in Vilamoura for SDF17 then there are trains running frequently from Lisbon and it is a smooth 3 hour journey at a very good price. We highly recommend you check out the city during your time in Portugal if you have never been!

The Algarve also benefits from a good road network, composed of motorways and trunk roads making journeys comfortable and efficient whether you're travelling by bus or driving in a rented car.

Rail transport is another alternative for visitors to the region. The Portuguese rail service (CP - Comboios de Portugal) has a vast network of trains to places all over the country.
